• Vivian Lee (she/her) is an Emmy-winning TV producer and correspondent, public speaker and moderator in New York. 

    You can see her work currently on the multiple award-winning magazine show Asian American Life, broadcast and produced by CUNY-TV. 

    She garnered two Emmy nominations this year for her work on AAL’s episodes “Chinatown: Next Generation” and “Roots and Routes: Our Immigration Story.” 

    Between 2021 and 2025, she also co-hosted a podcast for working women called The 5 Of Us. 

    Prior to joining CUNY-TV, Vivian anchored and reported for NY1 covering stories of local, national and international importance. 

    From the Covid-19 pandemic to the 2020 general election,  from Hurricane Sandy to Pope Francis’ historic election and visit to the US, Vivian was on the ground reporting or leading team coverage from the anchor desk. She also hosted NY1’s Spotlight New York, an Emmy-winning weekly magazine show on arts and culture in the five boroughs. 

    Vivian’s career in New York began at WNBC in 2002.  

    Prior to that she was CityTV Toronto's parliamentary correspondent and federal affairs reporter in Ottawa, Canada.

    Born and raised in Toronto, Vivian began reporting in her senior year of college while pursuing her journalism degree at Carleton University.

    From there, her stints included ATV-ASN News Halifax, A Channel Calgary,  and CP24 Cable News in Toronto. 

    Vivian has received numerous awards recognizing her industry and community contributions, including a 2026 Telly Award, the 2021 New York Women’s Foundation “Pillars of Courage” award, a 2020 Emmy for historical news coverage, and the 2019 Lifetime Engagement Award from the Korean American Family Service Center in New York. 

    A featured speaker on numerous panels and workshops discussing ageism, gender discrimination and Asian American identity, this year Vivian became Director of Development at Korean American Story, a non-profit dedicated to capturing and preserving the true stories of Korean Americans. 

    She also served as co-chair of the board at KAS from 2021 to 2026. 

    She lives in New York with her husband and two daughters.
